Sismolados the Great

A trembling yoghurt. A swaying block of flats. A mouse with dusty whiskers. And an uninvited visitor who comes straight from the depths of the Earth! A little girl is getting ready to eat her evening yoghurt and go to bed. Suddenly, the yoghurt starts to tremble. Then the table. The house. The whole neighbourhood.

Earthquake!

From that moment on, her room fills with strange visitors: her mother with a saucepan on her head, her classmate Yolanda, who is never parted from her mobile phone, and a little mouse that has just come out of its hole, frightened. Everyone has a different idea about what to do. But not all the ideas are right.

And that’s when Sismolados appears. A weird, playful and comical creature from inside the Earth, who takes it upon himself to explain what is really happening beneath our feet. With biscuits, rusks and… whipped cream, he shows the children how tectonic plates move, why an earthquake happens and, above all, how we can react the right way without panicking.

Through comic dialogue, music, songs, puppets and video, children get to know the earthquake as a natural phenomenon and learn simple safety rules through play and theatrical action. A fast, funny performance full of twists, where knowledge doesn’t come as a lesson. It comes in a dish of yoghurt that suddenly starts to wobble.
