A different kind of outing for your class. Theatre, fun and a little English, just where the children might least expect it.
For the students of a foreign language institution, a trip to the theatre can become much more than a pleasant outing. It can become a live experience of communication, where the child laughs, joins in, listens, answers and uses the language outside the usual setting of the classroom.
AEROPLIO’s performances have been created with exactly this idea of direct contact with children. Music, songs, humour, movement, colourful sets, puppets, video and quick theatrical twists keep interest alive, while the young audience genuinely takes part in the action. The actors talk to them, ask them questions, ask for their help and often let the course of a scene pass into their hands for a while. Our actors also have experience in education. They know how to communicate with children of different ages and how to create an atmosphere where even the shyest child can join in without feeling tested.
For organised groups from language schools and foreign language institutions there is also, by advance arrangement, an extra option: selected moments of the performance can be done in English. A short dialogue, a question to the children, a game or a short scene can be woven naturally into the action, so that the students hear and use English in a real theatrical situation. We don’t turn the performance into an ‘English lesson’. That is exactly what we want to avoid. The language appears where it makes sense, through play, humour and communication with the actors.
This adaptation needs to be arranged in good time together with the teachers, according to the age and level of the students.
